Fresh Starts

Fresh Starts

With the end of Summer upon us and the beginning of a new School year looming larger each day, we often get down thinking about a lack of freedom as students, or a return to normalcy and routine as adults.

So often, our goals as adults and children are at odds with one another due to this. Students cling to what freedom the summer provides as if it will never come again, and adults long for the days when thing are back to normal.

This time of year can be chaotic and stressful. We find encouragement in the fact that God provides stability no matter what end of the spectrum we fall on in regard to our schedules soon changing. We know that God doesn’t change with the times and seasons, but is constant and unwavering in His love for us. No matter how busy our lives get, God is always there for us. So often we allow our own schedules to determine how much time we give to God. Aren’t we glad he doesn’t do that to us? The king of the universe doesn’t let our business affect his availability. He is here for us in all circumstances. 1 John says that he will never leave us or forsake us. Yet how often do we forsake and leave him?

As we prepare for a new school year, changing schedules, new responsibilities, take time each day to devote to God. Don’t let the hectic lives we lead detract from our relationship with our savior. He made the ultimate sacrifice for us, doing what he didn’t have to, in order to bring us to Him. Don’t let life get in the way of Him. He deserves better.

Sincerely,

Wesley Carnley
